Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine is a broad range of medical practices developed in China which share a common foundation based on a tradition of more than 2,000 years.  These practices include Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture, massage, qigong exercises, and dietary therapy.  A practitioner of Chinese medicine performs a thorough assessment of each patient to develop a customized treatment plan for each person's unique constitution.

Acupuncture is one of the main forms of treatment in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It involves the use of sterile, hair-thin needles that are inserted in the body at very specific points. Acupuncture treatments adjust and balance the body's energy flow into healthier patterns, and are effective for a wide variety of health conditions.  Common conditions treated with acupuncture include:  Digestive disturbances, reproductive system disorders, mood disorders, musculo-skeletal pain, headaches, insomnia, seasonal allergies and fatigue.  Acupuncture is generally painless, and promotes a deep state of relaxation in those who receive treatment.
