Anisha, a Center for Holistic Health in Portland, Oregon, was founded on June 1, 2006. Anisha’s founding was inspired by a trip to India to support the Susila Dharma Projects in and around the city of Bangalore, India. The program Anisha, meaning “from darkness to light,” works with the neglected children and women living in the slums of Bangalore City. Witnessing the capacity of a few dedicated people capable of offering services to a larger community was the spark to imagine building its namesake, Anisha - A Center for Holistic Health in Southeast Portland.
